OPEN AIR CAMPAIGNERS EVANGELISTIC TRAINING ACADEMY
We are very excited to announce that Open Air Campaigners (OAC) will hold its first Open Air Campaigners Evangelistic Training Academy at Washington Bible College (WBC), June 9-14. The team here in Washington is working very hard to get everything into place to make the Academy a success. We are currently working on getting approval to offer the option of taking the Academy for three college credits. We have new vision at OAC, and we are asking God to raise up evangelists in 25 new cities in the USA by 2025. We are very excited about what God will do in these 25 cities, and we are praying that God will bring new, young evangelists on staff through our Academy at WBC and our training seminars at Lancaster Bible College and in Boston to accomplish this purpose.
While attending the Academy/seminar the students will learn how to reason from the scriptures and how to share the good news with object lessons and visual aids. Then we will take the students out around the Baltimore Washington Metropolitan area to share the Gospel. Anyone may enroll in the academy and will learn how to defend the faith and conduct evangelistic outreaches. When the students complete the course they will be able to take what they have learned back to their own circle of influence equipped to share the Gospel with confidence with their family and friends.

This video includes clips of preaching at the University of Maryland Baltimore Campus. We really enjoyed engaging the students with the Gospel and challenging most that hold naturalistic and or postmodern worldviews. We pray that these young people would believe the Gospel and be saved.

The video below is of an illustration that is excellent for atheists because it demonstrates that we all believe in things we cannot taste, smell, and touch with the senses. We often use this object lesson on college campuses to illustrate this truth or we use it to draw a crowd because we involve one of the students in the audience as a volunteer. This illustration also demonstrates that the only way to be in harmony with God is through repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ. To learn how to do this illustration and other effective evangelism tools we offer the Open Air campaigners Evangelism Training Academy and Seminars. The illustration in the video below is borrowed from Ray Comfort. This video takes place at the University of Maryland Baltimore Campus. It was at the beginning of four straight hours of preaching. We were able to engage many people with the Gospel and even non-believers were asking us when we would be coming back. We genuinely love all the students who interacted with us with many questions even the scoffers and pray for their salvation.

One of the ways we reach communities is through weekly Bible Clubs. These Kids’ Bible Clubs become a link to families that potentially lead to the beginning of an Adult Bible Study. We can come to your church and show you how to get a Kids’ Bible Club started that will reach your community. Then we will supply the training and access to the resources to get your Community Bible Club started. The design of this program will utilize your people with their spiritual gifts to make a sucessful Kids’ Bible Club. We will also help you with the initial outreach and then you can continue from there. OAC will continue to be available to help you with any hurdles you may encounter and we would love to visit from time to time as guest teachers.
The video above is run in parternship with a local church. We have assembled a team in that church who helps with teaching the lessons, praying with the kids, playing with the kids, and giving them snaks. This club has been running for two years and some of the families that these kids represent have come to church sometimes and a Bible Study for adults has been started with about 12 people attending. One of the object lessons we use at Open Air Campaigners is The Chemical Cross. It is a great illustration to use in open air preaching and demonstrates the effects of breaking God’s law on the soul. Once it has been illustrated that people are filthy before God because of sin The Chemical Cross demonstrates the life changing cleansing power of Jesus, death, burial, and resurrection. Anyone can learn how to use The Chemical Cross effectively by joining us at the Open Air Campaigners Evangelistic Academy in Washington DC June 11-16. For more information on training click here. One of the methods of evangelism that we use with children and people with no biblical background is chronological Bible teaching in weekly Bible Clubs. This is crucial for people who have no knowledge of what the Bible teaches because people need to know why they need a Savior. We start at the beginning with who God is and how all things are created by Him. We teach about how humankind fell into sin and how God promised a Savior. We teach through the Old Testament all the way to Christ. This way the students understand why they need a Savior.
Some people may worry that this process takes to long to get to the Gospel. This is no problem, however, because we give the Gospel at different points throughout the year so that the attendees have plenty of opportunities to repent and trust in Jesus.
Included in our programs is time spent playing with the kids and time for personal prayer requests. This is important because a lot of the kids we minister to lack a functional family and many times dad is absent. People are hurting and they want to be cared for.
The video below is an actual program in a Latino neighborhood in Maryland.
